A driving test swap is a straight exchange of booked driving tests between two learners. You want an earlier date; someone else wants the later one you are holding. Instead of hunting driving test cancellations, we match you with that person.

Yes. The DVSA allows two learner drivers to swap driving tests with each other, as long as both of you meet its rules on notice, test centres, test type and changes remaining.
What you cannot do is change, swap or cancel a driving test on somebody else's behalf. Each learner has to agree to the swap themselves, which is why the DVSA speaks to both of you.
It depends on how many learners joined before you, and on demand at your test centre and for the dates you can take.

Learner drivers who already have a car driving test booked. You can only arrange a swap for your own driving test booking - you are not allowed to change, swap or cancel a driving test for someone else.
Yes. The DVSA lets you change your driving test twice, and a swap counts as one of those changes. Both learners need at least one change remaining for a swap to go ahead.

No. Swaps are like for like. A weekday test can only be swapped with another weekday test, and an evening or weekend test only with another evening or weekend test.
Extended tests for disqualified drivers can only be swapped with other extended tests, and if either of you has extra time arranged, the other test must have the same arrangement.
By phone only. One of you rings the DVSA on 0300 200 1122 and chooses option 1, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm. You both need to be available at the same time.
The DVSA does security checks with whoever rang, then rings the other learner on the phone number registered against their driving test booking. Once you have both agreed to a legal declaration, the DVSA makes the swap.
You cannot swap a driving test online, by email, by webchat, by text message, using the DVSA WhatsApp account or through DVSA social media accounts.
Your driving licence number, your current driving test booking reference, the payment card used to book the test (unless your instructor booked it), and the date, time and test centre of both your current test and the one you want.
You will also need the other learner's booking reference number - and nothing else about them. Never their name or contact details.
The DVSA will never ask you for your payment card's full number or its security code.
